Pain, categorically, is not without hope

It is hard writing about pain. Tricky. Looking inwardly brings me back to moments I would rather not be. Memories from years ago would make it feel like they were yesterday’s. Looking outwardly drowns me with heaviness I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I cannot stand the sight of someone being subjected to pain. I cannot — especially, when it involves children and elderlies. Pain is like a wet blanket that can wrap around and weigh down a soul. It can get very hard to breathe under it. It is not easy writing about pain. But it is necessary.

I think of where pain comes from and the answer would be clear and simple. Pain is because sin is. Pain came to the human race because the man and the woman forfeited everything provided to them in the garden. They chose to do what they want and disobeyed the command of the Creator. They sinned and because of that pain came. The source of pain is simple. Nevertheless, the experience of pain is as complex as the lives of the billions and trillions of souls that ever walked upon the face of the earth. It differs for each soul. Not to mention the depth, intensity, and even the magnitude of it. The source of pain is simple but the experience of it is not. This is one of the reasons why one should never take lightly the task of writing about pain (or anything that involves it). Still, it needs to be written. For even though it is arduous, heavy, and even though it can get complicated — pain, categorically, is not without hope.
